National  Science Day

National  Science Day:

National  Science Day

MSB Educational Institute Bangalore celebrated National Science Day with enthusiasm by involving the students in various activities. Activities suggested under Project Rise were also incorporated during the school's celebration.

  • Students of class IX introduced the National Science Day programme and discussed the theme for this year’s  National Science Day celebration. They presented a skit on scientific discoveries which included topics such as chance discoveries, recent developments in Science & Technology, research Institutes in Bangalore, and the scope of studying science.

  • Students of the Primary section were given topics class wise as mentioned below.

Class 1-Covid 19 awareness

Class 2-Medicinal plants

Class 3-Solar energy

Class 4-Invention and Discoveries in Science.

Given a week’s time, they organised their thoughts and ideas into models and charts and presented their learning to the parents who came to school on Wednesday 23rd of February. Parents and Teachers were happy to see the little ones speaking with confidence.

  • Students of classes IV to VII prepared bird feeders by reusing the materials available at home and mounted them on trees in the school campus and fed the birds with sunflower seeds. They enjoyed the process of designing the feeders, carefully climbing on trees and installing the feeders. Their joy knew no bounds seeing the birds feed on them.

  • Students of classes VII and VIII prepared masks and cloth bags that are reusable to evoke the concept of reduce and reuse.

  • Students of classes V to VIII transformed into explorers, researched and found out interesting science experiments, and designed working models using material available at home. They displayed the concepts of density, magnetism, hydraulic pressure in their experiments and models.  “Scientific practice involves the construction, validation and application of scientific models’ - This was seen in the designs of a few STEM models: refrigerator, crane, burglar’s alarm. All these were presented to parents on 25th February. Parents and teachers were captivated by their presentations.

  • Students of class IX visited an old age home and served breakfast to the residents. Students of I to X supported this effort by contributing to the cause.  The old aged people there were very happy to see the students and appreciated their gesture. The students’ sentiments were profoundly touched seeing parents being away from their homes. Back in school, they shared their thoughts on how to take good care of one's parents, grandparents and the needy.

  • A talk on Cancer Awareness was organised by the school for the Students and Parents of classes V to X.  The aim of this programme was to create awareness about cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.  The awareness programme was presented by Dr. Farida Behen Bengali which included a brief insight into the food habits and the lifestyle changes that must be a part of everyone’s life. Students and parents  showed their inquisitiveness by asking many questions.

MSB Bangalore aims to kindle  scientific temper in the students by participating in these exploratory activities.
